green newsNot that long ago, hippies and progressive scientists pioneered the battle against climate change. It's only just now however, with the world's population approaching 7-billion people and our limited amount of natural resources rapidly depleting, has sustainability gone mainstream.  The global crisis facing us is undeniably massive and is something we can no longer ignore.  Take a look at what scientific research reveals about today's planet:

  •    Warming global temperatures
  •    Increased atmospheric carbon dioxide
  •    More frequent extreme weather
  •    Disappearing glaciers
  •    Melting ice in the Arctic Sea
  •    Melting ice in the Antarctic Sea
  •    Warming ocean temperatures causing coral bleaching

Although all of this evidence seems small and may not have an effect on you day-to-day lives, it will.  The implications are significant will get worse.

It's clear that to slow down the effects of global warming, the flight against client change must occur now.  We need to learn to live within the Earth's limits or in other words, consider sustainability.  What people need to realise is that living a more sustainable life does not mean you quality of life will suffer – it's actually the opposite.  Driving a more fuel-efficient car or switching to a washing machine that uses half the energy of your current machine provides the same level of service and satisfaction.  Additionally, you'll be saving more money and helping the environment.

The gap between our current values and the negative effects our lifestyle causes to the environment is too large.  The gap needs to be closed.  We need to change our values and live cleaner, simpler and more sustainable lives.  Live Green Today wants to help you make an positive impact on the environment and be an example for others to follow.
