The gas used in our homes is not renewable and thus, not the greenest choice. Natural gas does however, burn cleaner than oil and coal and thus, emits less carbon dioxide into the environment. If you choose to use gas at home, sign up to a programme with an energy supplier that offsets the gas you use by producing renewable energy and returns it to the grid.
