Rail has the best travel industry performance when it comes to the environment. With some of the budget airlines cost-cutting many of the major train service providers, flying cannot compete in the green factor. Additionally, train travel is often as fast or faster than flying to many European cities when you factor in the waiting time at airports. If you want to travel green, the train is an excellent option.
